The snorkeling excursion, a journey that promises to immerse you in the vibrant marine life of Zanzibar. Setting sail from either Matemwe or Tumbatu Island, your boat trip will navigate the crystalline waters towards the renowned Mnemba Atoll or the captivating Tumbatu Island, both hailed as premier snorkeling destinations in Zanzibar! Prepare to be enchanted as you indulge in two exhilarating 45-minute snorkeling sessions, each at distinct sites teeming with kaleidoscopic coral reefs and an array of mesmerizing aquatic creatures. In between your aquatic explorations, relish a tranquil 45-minute interlude, savoring delectable snacks and refreshing tea aboard the vessel. As your adventure draws to a close, bask in the memories of your final snorkeling stop before the boat gracefully steers its course back to the dive center, leaving you with cherished moments and a newfound appreciation for the captivating underwater realm of Zanzibar.

Preparation

Put the following in a bag:
  • Sunscreen
  • A swimsuit
  • A towel
  • If you own a waterproof camera, use it.
  • If at all possible, leave your valuables at the hotel. Additionally, the dive center has a locked office where you can leave your bag. Light Tour and Diving offers couples-only waterproof bags on every boat so you may bring your phone along.

Snorkeling Trip

Diving facility:
  • Our staff will brief you during a meet and greet at the dive center.
  • You will be fitted for a wetsuit, reef shoes, fins, a mask, and a snorkel.
  • You'll don your reef shoes and wetsuit.
  • The staff will load the remaining equipment onto the boat and number it so that you and they can both keep track of which items were selected for you.
  • You can leave your clothes and suitcase behind; they will be locked in the office.
Getting on board:
  • The precise location where you board the boat will depend on the tides; it might be a beach 15 minutes away by foot or the pier next to our office (transport can be arranged for anyone with a mobility handicap).
  • Your boat will be boarded safely and conveniently by the staff.
On the boat:
  • The staff will conduct a safety briefing, introduce the crew, and go over the schedule.
  • Everyone has access to water. If you're thirsty, just ask the staff.
  • It will take roughly 15 minutes to get to the snorkeling location.
On the 1st snorkeling location:
  • If you require a life jacket or rings, your snorkeling guide will assist you in putting them on and will also be present to answer any questions you may have.
  • It's time to dive into the ocean! Once in the water, you'll follow your guide as he takes you to see the amazing marine life that teems beneath the surface.
  • A 45-minute period makes up the first session.
  • The crew will assist you in returning to the boat quickly and safely.
Break
  • Now, the boat will relocate to a backup site.
  • There will be tea and snacks available
  • It lasts for around thirty to forty-five minutes.
On the 2nd snorkeling location:
  • Our snorkel guide will assist you in putting on your equipment
  • It's time to dive into the ocean!
  • There are about 45 minutes in the second session.
  • The crew will assist you in returning to the boat quickly and safely.
Back to shore:
  • At this point, the vessel will return to land.
  • The landing site will be at most ten minutes' walk from the dive center, depending on the tides.
